Highland Pony Open Days

at Brownbread Highland Pony Centre
Ashburnham, Battle, E Sussex.  TN33 9NX   01424 892381

The last Highland Open Day was on
Sunday 30th June 2013

Many visitors arrived between 12 noon and 4pm bringing a plate of something and enjoying a relaxing afternoon playing croquet, swimming or a walk round the farm seeing the stallion, mares, geldings and youngstock.  The secondhand tack shop was available.  Tea & coffee was constantly available.  Email Dinty,  dintysteains@hotmail.co.uk   and copy to Tony tony.brownbread@tesco.net    if you would like to come to the next Highland Open Day in 2014.  You don't have to be in to Highlands or, indeed, even be horsey, so get your friends to come along with you.  Many of our own friends and family come on the day.

Brownbread Horse Rescue (Charity 1029341)
You will probably know that Brownbread Stud is also the farm at which the Charity, "Brownbread Horse Rescue" is based.  The work of the Charity concerns serious cases of neglect and abuse of equines all over the South East and is run mainly by volunteers including Field Officers.  The Charity holds two Open Days annually, currently the next is 18th May 2014 where about 1,000 visitors attend.  This is not a good day to chat with Dinty or Tony about Highlands as they are so busy, however there may be some Highlands stabled that have been rescued.  Otherwise all the Highlands are moved to more distant fields for the day.
The Rescue Open Day, 10.30 to 4pm, is very full and fun for all the family with children's corner/bouncy castle, pony rides, archery, dog show, stalls, classic cars, stage performances, arena events, BBQ, refreshments and more.  If you are able to help, perform on stage or in the arena or want details / poster / newsletter, ring Tony on 01424 893922 or email him on  tony.brownbread@tesco.net   You could also join the Friends Group for Brownbread Horse Rescue, £4 per month.
